Ion Exchange operates water treatment plants and distribution infrastructure across multiple client sites simultaneously. Each site has its own SCADA system — different vendors, different protocols, different historical baselines. Each site has its own meter estate — different brands, different communication protocols, different data structures. The operational reporting from each site is what the client paid for; consolidating across them was Ion Exchange's internal challenge.
The operations team was effectively running parallel monitoring workflows — one per client site — with no easy way to compare performance, identify cross-site issues, or apply learnings from one operation to another.
